E-Levy: 56% Of NPP Supporters Oppose The Policy

Data collected through a survey by Global Info Analytics (GIA) indicates that 56% of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters are against E-Levy.

 

According to the report, the supporters of NPP want a reconsideration from government on the 1.75% of the E-Levy captured in the 2022 Budget statement.

 

The data also has it that 86% of National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters also do not support the Levy, stating that government should leave it for now.

 

The electronic transaction fee, which the government has proposed is facing much controversies since its pronouncement by the Finance Minister.

 

While 56.35% of NPP followers and 86.64% of NDC supporters are against the policy, 39.45% of NPP members and 10.13% of the NDC respectively, support the MoMo tax.

 

In a float of the decision made by the participants from the total population of this survey, the data indicate the following.

77.51% of Ghanaians are against the passage of the policy, 15.89% of the nationals are in support and 8.60% do not have opinion on the E-Levy.

 

Ghanaians still remain in dilemma as no one can predict whether the E-Levy will be passed or not, since both Majority and Minority groups in Parliament are debating over the bill.
