Breaking News: Special Prosecutor Freezes Sir John’s Assets

The information reaching MyAfro Ghana indicates that Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has frozen assets of the late Kwadzo Owusu Afriyie also known as Sir John, former Chief Executive Officer of Forestry Commission.

This means that all assets contained in Will of the late Kwadzo Owusu Afriyie aka Sir John cannot be used by the said beneficiaries the properties are willed to.

According to a statement signed by the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, his office “has commenced full investigations into the suspected corruption and corruption-related offences” in respect of alleged improper and unlawful acquisition of state lands at the Achimota Forest enclave and Ramsar catchment at Sakumono in Accra by the former CEO of Forestry Commission”- and other persons.

The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources is directed to cooperate with the Office of the Special Prosecutor in the investigations.
