Dr. Bawumia Presents New Buses And Pickups To Selected Senior High Schools Across The Country
The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has presented buses and pickup trucks to Senior High Schools (SHS).
The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has on January 31, 2022 presented 150 vehicles to selected SHS across the country.
According to the Vice President, the presentation of the vehicle is to fulfill the pledge by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
“I presented 150 vehicles to a number of Senior High Schools in the continued Fulfillment of a pledge by the President”, he said.
He added that, it is Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s pledge “to provide the necessary logistics to ensure access to quality education for Ghana’s youth”.
He revealed that the 150 vehicles are “made up of 100 buses and 50 pickup trucks”. This latest provision of vehicles form part of a broader, ongoing efforts by government, through GETFund and other stakeholders”, he explained.
He emphasized that this intervention is “not to only increase access to education for every Ghanaian child, but also provide the necessary infrastructure and logistics to create a conducive environment for teaching and learning”.
The Vice President has revealed that, he has underscored the importance of efficient system of transportation in the education sector.
“I underscored the importance of an efficient transportation system in the education sector, particularly in a light of the flagship Free Senior High School Programme and pledged government’s commitment to even doing more”.
