A. Deputy Director, Administration

Job Summary

The successful candidate shall, under the leadership and direction of the Regional Director of Health Set-vice be responsible for providing direction and advice in the efficient management of General Administration and Support Services within the region

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform key duties and responsibilities specified in the accompanying job description amongst which are:

1. Lead in the needs assessment of clinical equipment, transport and estate.

2. Lead in the development of systems for monitoring and evaluation of general administration practices across the region.

3. Contribute to the implementation and evaluation of national health policies within the Region.

4. Contribute to the development and implementation of medium/Long term strategic plans for the GHS.

5. Prepare annual reports and other reports on the Department.

6. Ensure prompt installation and maintenance of medical equipment and plants.

7. Supervise the construction and rehabilitation of health facilities.

8. Lead in the development of systems for monitoring and evaluation of transport management, general administration practices, and health projects across the organisation.

Requirements for the position

To be eligible for consideration, the prospective candidate must:

  • be an employee of the Ghana Health Service
  • have served for a minimum of two (2) years as Principal Health Service Administrator
  • have master’s degree in Health Service Administration, Management, Planning and/or policy
  • have evidence of leadership and relevant continuing professional development
  • Have strategic, interpersonal, and analytical skills, deep understanding and appreciation of the strategic and operational challenges of the Service with respect to Administration.

B. Deputy Director, Estate Management

Job Summary

The successful candidate shall, under the leadership and direction of the Director of Health Administration and Support Services, be responsible for providing direction and advice in the efficient management of estates within the Ghana Health Service

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform key duties and responsibilities specified in the accompanying job description amongst which are:

1. Lead in the needs assessment and lapses in estates management within the GHS.

2. Ensure the provision of efficient estates within the organisation.

3. Contribute to the disposal of obsolete plants, etc.

4. Contribute to policy development, analysis and review of estates / capital projects in the Ghana Health Set-vice (GHS).

5. Lead in the development of systems for monitoring and evaluation of estate management across the organisation.

6. Contribute to the implementation and evaluation of national health policies within the GHS.

7. Contribute to the development and implementation of medium/long term strategic plans for the GHS.

8. Collate Capital Plans / Budgets for the organization; prepare annual reports & and other reports on the Department.

Requirements for the position

To be eligible for consideration, the prospective candidate must:

  • be an employee of the Ghana Health Service
  • have served for a minimum of two (2) years on a principal grade as Estates Manager, Architect, Civil Engineer, Health Service Administrator, Quantity Surveyor or related fields
  • have master’s degree in Estates Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Health Service Management/Administration, projects management or closely related qualification
  • have evidence of leadership and relevant continuing professional development
  • Have strategic, interpersonal, and analytical skills, deep understanding and appreciation of the strategic and operational challenges of the Service with respect to estate management
  • Be performance driven and keen on achieving results.

C. Deputy Director, Health Research &Development

Job Summary

The successful candidate shall, under the leadership and direction of the Director for Health Research and Development be responsible for managing a Health Research Department or Centre, execute the research agenda of the GHS as well as coordinate and lead research activities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform key duties and responsibilities specified in the accompanying job description amongst which are:

1. Lead in the conduct of research in line with the health research agenda of GHS.

2. Contribute to service delivery, capacity development and other activities that promote the health of deprived communities within the catchment zone.

3. Spearhead the establishment of collaborative links with local and international institutions in research, capacity strengthening and knowledge sharing.

4. Coordinate efforts at identifying and developing appropriate research tools that can be adopted to changing research needs and priorities.

5. Lead in the preparation and submission of research proposals for funding and support.

Requirements For The Position

To be eligible for consideration, the prospective candidate must:

  • be an employee of the Ghana Health Service
  • have served for a minimum of Wyo (2) years on a principal grade in any of the health professions.
  • have relevant PhD or a qualification as a member from a post graduate medical college have a minimum of 10 years health research experience.
  • have experience in attracting and managing large scale projects and people.
  • Possess a minimum of a certificate in management.
  • Have strategic, interpersonal, and analytical skills, deep understanding and appreciation of the strategic and operational challenges of the Service with respect to health research and development.
  • Be performance driven and keen on achieving results.

D. Medical Director

Job Summary

The successful candidate shall, under the leadership and direction of the Regional Director of Health Service be responsible for the overall management of the facility, ensure the delivery of quality clinical services as well as efficiently manage human and material resources in the facility.

Key Duties Responsibilities

1. Lead in the development, monitoring, evaluation and implementation of clinical services in accordance with the national health policy.

2. Ensure that high clinical standards are met in the provision of medical services.

3. Ensure quality clinical practice through performance standards and statistical information.

4. Facilitate the development of operational policies, systems and procedures for efficient service delivery and for assessing and minimizing risk to all staff.

5. Ensure that clinical services provided in the facility meet the physical, social and emotional needs of patients/clients.

6. Lead in the preparation of strategic plan for the hospital and advocate for its implementation.

7. Lead in the establishment and implementation of effective monitoring and supervision system for the facility.

Requirements For The Position

To be eligible for consideration, the prospective candidate must:

  • be an employee of the Ghana Health Service.
  • be a Fellow of a postgraduate Medical College/lnstitution or an exit medical qualification in a dinical field with 3 years or more work experience a Clinician Specialist with a minimum of 10 years post specialization experience.
  • have evidence of leadership and relevant continuing professional development and possess a minimum of certificate in Management.
  • Have strategic, interpersonal, and analytical skills, deep understanding and appreciation of the strategic and operational challenges of the Service with respect to clinical care.
  • Be performance driven and keen on achieving results.

Job Summary

The successful candidate shall, under the leadership and direction of the Regional Director of Health Service be responsible for the overall management of the facility, ensure the delivery of quality clinical services as well as efficiently manage human and material resources in the facility

1. Lead in the preparation of strategic plan for the hospital and advocate for its implementation.

2. Ensure that clinical services provided in the facility meet the physical, social and emotional needs of patients/clients Ensure that high clinical standards are met in the provision of medical service.

3. Ensure quality clinical practice through performance standards and statistical information.

4. Set and coordinate work programmes to achieve set targets in the facility.

5. Facilitate the development of operational policies, systems and procedures for efficient service delivery and for assessing and minimizing risk to all staff.

6. Lead in the establishment and implementation of effective monitoring and supervision system for the facility.

Requirements For The Position

To be eligible for consideration, the prospective candidate must:

  • be an employee of the Ghana Health Service.
  • Be a Clinician with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
  • have evidence of leadership and relevant continuing professional development and possess a minimum of certificate in Management.
  • Have strategic, interpersonal, and analytical skills, deep understanding and appreciation of the strategic and operational challenges of the Service with respect to clinical care.
  • Be performance driven and keen on achieving results.
