“No One Engaged I And My Team On E-Levy” – Haruna Iddrisu

Honorable Haruna Iddrisu has said no one from the ministry of finance has engaged him on E-Levy.


The legislator, speaking to TV3’s Johnnie Hughes said the Finance Ministry and the government have not engaged him neither have not engaged any member of his team.


He revealed that, when Parliament went on recess, he Haruna Iddrisu did not spend the Christmas holidays in Accra but in Tamale.


He asked Ghanaians to disregard claims that the Ministry of Finance has engaged the minority team concerning the E-Levy.


Answering question on whether the bill on E-Levy has been passed as claimed by the Majority Leader, Hon. Osei-Kye Mensah Bonsu, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu has said the E-Levy has not been passed. The Minority leader referred to Article 106 and Article 108 of the 1992 Constitution regarding taxation.


On the street, Ghanaians express their concerns regarding the E-Levy. Some citizens ask for reduction of the E-Levy rate whiles some still stand stand against the policy.


Meanwhile, Honorable Haruna Iddrisu has said the Minority caucuses in Parliament will not support the E-Levy.
